Mr. Yanagisawa received B.S. and M.S. degrees in computer science from Kyoto University, where he specialized in approximation algorithms on combinatorial optimization problems. In 2003 he joined the IBM Research Division, where he works on optimization problems in manufacturing industries and logistics. Mr. Yanagisawa's research interests include algorithms in operations research and computer science.
