Fingerprints have been used for authentication and identification purposes for centuries. Most of the fingerprint identification/authentication systems are based on "minutia features" though there are other image correlationbased systems. In the minutiabased systems, vendors use many "private" features to improve accuracy. This becomes an obstacle for easy exchange of templates to support interoperability of fingerprint templates. In this paper, we propose a minutia template exchange format keeping interoperability in mind.
