A 10-day AVHRR composite of normalized vegetative index at 4 km resolution is shown registered with global topography data. The topography is shown as a radially deformed surface, which is colored by vegetative index. The surface was created by warping the mesh defined by an image of the data in an interrupted Goode projection to spherical coordinates.
The map projections are implemented via the Data Explorer Cartography Toolkit.
