The mapping and country visualization were done with a single macro, MapOnStates, which takes 2 arrays and maps them directly onto the height and color of each state and outputs a rubbersheeted structure with outlined state faces. In this image, the height of each state corresponds to its population, while the color represents the governor's yearly salary.
