Kasparov vs. Deep Blue: The Rematch was one of the most popular live events ever staged on the Internet.

The web site received more than 74 million hits representing more than 4 million user visits from 106 countries during the 9-day event.

Using cutting-edge IBM Internet technology, the web site was a brave foray into the world of the Internet "web-cast." As an Internet solution, this was a complex chain of hardware and software working together to produce the only place for real-time coverage of this historic chess match.
