Game 1, black
7...Bd6

Commentary for black move 7:

Mr. SEIRAWAN: Now that Garry has taken a break I feel more comfortable being able to explain. The move d2-d3 is, again, quite a flexible move, and what Garry is trying to achieve with the move d3 is the eventual push, e2-e4. After d2-d3, the move Bd6 came very quickly.

Mr. SEIRAWAN: And by the way, Mike, I'm a little bit surprised to see the computer playing so quickly. I don't even know if

Mr. Feng had the opportunity to write down the moves. Why is --

Mr. VALVO: There are two possibilities for this. Let's see what the audience thinks, first of all. What do you think would be the reason why that move came so fast? AUDIENCE MEMBER: Back in the book.

Mr. VALVO: Back in the book and the subsequent placated they did go back into the book because the computer responded instantly for several moves in a row. What might have been another explanation? AUDIENCE MEMBER: The Kasparov went into a long think and during that time the computer had been able to evaluate it.

Mr. VALVO: Correct. The computer is thinking on the other guy's time.

Mr. ASHLEY: If I may make a comment, when the audience is speaking it's difficult to go over the Internet, it's not being gathered up so we're going to repeat what everyone says so everything can follow it. So the comment was because of Kasparov's long think the computer was able to figure out everything from this moment on?
