Vit Libal

Biography:

Vit Libal was born in Prague, Czech Republic, on March, 19, 1970. He received a Masters degree in Microelectronics from the Czech Technical University of Prague, Czech Republic in 1993, and a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering and Informatics from the Czech Technical University of Prague, Czech Republic in 2001, by thesis "Road Signs Recognition System". He joined IBM in 1998. From 1998 till 2002, he was with IBM Human Language Technologies group, Prague, Czech Republic, where he was working on research and development of the Embedded Speech Engine. Since 2002, he has been working with the IBM Human Language Technologies group, Athens, Greece. Since spring of 2003 he has been on international assignmentwith the Human Language Technologies group at IBM Research at the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center. Fields of his research interests are audio-visual speech processing, digital signal processing,image processing & computer vision, pattern recognition, microprocessor technology, real-time & low resources algorithm optimization, internet technologies.
